I am going to start updating my blog a bit more regularly as I now go the Big Picture School and it is a requirement that i write my autobiography over the next 2 years. So this is a good way to help me remember the year.
Dubai/Sweden/Italy was a 5 week trip I went on earlier this year in March/April.
On the way to Vert Attack in Sweden, I had a 3 day stopover in Dubai to check out it and I had heard really good things about their new skatepark. Dubai X skate park is unreal and it was really different skating to the sounds of the Mosque calling people to prayer. The park was awesome and the bowl is super smooth. Its right on the beach with cafes close by. I love the pattern of the shade cloth and all the palm trees, everyone was so friendly. It was like skating in an oasis.
Morgan Carlson from Dubai X gave me the chance to go on the Xline from 60 stories high it was siiiick.
I also went dune bashing in the desert which was so much fun. Our driver was gnarly! Sunset was amazing though. It was a full on 3 days and I cant wait to go back, there is sooo much crazy stuff to do it Dubai.
Vert Attack was in Malmo, Sweden. We flew in Copenhagen in Denmark and took a train across the water to Malmo. We stayed in the beautiful old part of town and learnt that its pretty hard to skate on cobblestones. Everybody rides everywhere and not many bikes are locked up.
The comp was heaps of fun and a crazy amount of people fly in all over to world to compete in it. I ended up coming 5th in the girls division
After the competition was done we had almost a month in Italy which was amazing! My Grandmother and my younger brother and sister flew over and my mum and I met them in Venice. We caught a water taxi in from the airport, it was such a cool way to arrive into a city.
My brother Banjo is really into parkour and found so many things to jump over in Venice.
Pasta in all shapes and sizes
From Venice we had a couple of nights in Rimini with an amazing Pro skater Giorgio and skated his ramp
We spent a week in this awesome hill top village and really got to explore every part of it.
Our apartment in San Gimingano! We are in the window above the umbrella.
Day trip to Sienna
Camogli is on the Italian Riviera. A lot of the buildings are painted with Trompe loe'il which is a type of painting really specific to the riviera.
The water was pretty freezing, we were the only ones that swam all week
We explored the Cinque Terre - 5 little coastal villages not far from Camogli. Riomaggiore, Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia and Manarola. My favourite was Riomaggiore.
Back in Camogli I did a bit of painting using sea waterQuick pit stop at Pisa on the way to Rome
We stayed in the centre of Rome at an Airbnb in Piazza del Fiori. Everyday in our Piazza was flower markets.
We walked and walked and walked everyday in Rome
